Since the age of 23, Bert has been using Finasteride for a period of 5 years. Then he got fed up with the side effects and quit the treatment. He started using Toppik to cover his thinning hair. Add a daily routine of Minoxidil and there you have an overview of this young man's fight against hair loss.

As a barber / hair dresser, it is his daily goal is to make people happy about their hair. But his own hair situation became quite confronting, since he literally works more than anyone in front of a mirror. Go figure... So he decided to make an appointment with Dr. Feriduni to talk things through.

After all his attempts, Bert took a decision he had been thinking about for several years: a hair transplantation. Dr. Feriduni was able to perform a FUE with 3098 FU to restore his receding and thinning hairline as natural as possible. Bert's classification was Norwood III at age 30, which is quite young. Dr. Feriduni always takes into account possible further hair loss and he made sure Bert's donor area was used safely for extraction.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we only got to see Bert's progress by the pictures he has sent us per email. We then agreed on planning a safe and professional photoshoot on the day Bert was allowed to open his barber shop again. And then this kind of magic happened...

With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Feriduni has performed more than 10000 hair transplants on patients of every age, race, gender and skin colour. He has a master eye when it comes to (re)creating the hairline. Every detail matters because the hairlines literally frames the face and you can't tell if someone has had a hair transplant when it is done in a natural way. 

When creating the hairline, Dr. Feriduni respects the patient's facial shape, jaw line and bone structure. The hairline type and multiple landmarks a.o. the frontal midpoint, temporal points, sideburns etc. are taken into account. The natural hair density should be approached as much as possible. Recreating the hairline takes meticulous measurements and is a custom process in which Dr. Feriduni strives to achieve the most natural result. Also, safe donor management is key in our clinic. For example, a receding hairline in your twenties can probably be restored. But chances are high that further hair loss (of non-transplanted hair) will occur. Dr. Feriduni calculates the donor area (the area on the back of the head) to foresee a possible future treatment or consider a follow-up with a medical treatment to stabilize or stop further hair loss. 

Hairlines on the other hand differ between men and women. The male hairline is characterised by 2 lines: the anterior and temporal line. These two never remain straight because that would create a fake look. Unfortunately, we tend to see a lot of patients for a repair hair transplant who had a bad hair transplant performed somewhere else. The hairline is too straight, like some sort of carpet running over the forehead. Or the density is completely wrong: e.g. too much in the front, not enough to the back. It is important that the temporal and anterior line are further subdivided into micro and macro irregularities. Only then it is possible to match a natural appearance.  

The shape of female hairlines comes in a variety of rounded, triangular, rectangular, M- or bell-shaped curves. Dr. Feriduni will always consider the soft transition zone with the proper density in order to recreate a beautiful and natural look. 

What characterizes Dr. Feriduni, is that he is a warm and caring person who takes his time when meeting the patient. Everything can be discussed, questions can be asked, insecurities can be named. Everyone who deals with hair loss, bald patches, a high forehead, a receding hairline, a lack of eyelashes, thin eyebrows, a scar or who had a bad hair transplant somewhere else is suffering from the way they look. Ben took the step and booked a consultation with Dr. Feriduni. Considering his age (38), stage of hair loss and donor capacity, the doctor concluded that FUE would be the best treatment for him. And so it went: mid November 2020 Ben underwent his hair transplant in Hasselt. In COVID-19 times, meaning with a ton of measures and restrictions, but which came as a sort of plus for the home office city manager. Dr. Feriduni recreated Ben's hairline in a conservative way, so the results is the most natural. The density from front to back is perfect, even his hairdresser did not notice he had a hair transplantation done in quaranaine times. Which we gladly take as a compliment!

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we only got to follow Ben's progress by a picture in his bathroom that he agreed on taking regularly. We then organised a safe and professional photoshoot with him and Stella only when the crew was vaccinated and tested before. All set: enjoy watching the result...

It has already been 6 years since I underwent my hair transplantation at Dr. Feriduni Hair Clinic. I can't imagine how I would have looked if I didn't had it done... My hair was starting to thin around the age of 32 and basically the prognose was not so optimistic. Given the fact that how I look is key in my professional life, I decided to have this surgery. I am still grateful every single day for having taken this step.

Bart became Mister Belgium in 2002 and that was the beginning of his modelling career. He travels around the world since then and has worked for many large brands. Bart is married with beauté Chloe Vandenbussche, a gorgeous and funny influencer who certainly is a joy to follow on Instagram. And wonderful news: Bart and Chloe are expecting a baby this year! As a true model, he can get away with lots of styles. One thing's for sure: his hair has never been a worry since 2016 ;-)
